Further information

Provenance:
  • John Whitgift (1530 – 1604), archbishop of Canterbury, 1583 – 1604: evidence of binding.
  • Richard Bancroft (1544-1610), archbishop of Canterybury, 1604-1610: inferred from the descent of Whitgift’s books, and the presence of a tab from Babel MS 18.
  • Samuel Harsnett (1561 – 1631), archbishop of York, 1629 – 31, presumably passed to him on the death of Bancroft, whose executor he was.
